Some plastic waste is unavoidable and this is certainly true for many medical items.
It is worth finding out if your plastic medication can be recycled.
I've recently discovered that all brands of inhalers can be recycled by GlaxoSmithKline's 'Complete the Cycle' scheme.
They run collections via multiple pharmacies (my local Boots and Tesco pharmacies are collection points).
“Complete the Cycle was set up in the UK in 2011. By the end of 2017, over 1.2 million inhalers have been recycled and recovered. This has saved carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to taking 5,199 cars off UK roads.”

Over 73 million inhalers are prescribed a year so there's some work to do to spread the message about recycling.
