Reusable Cloth Nappies Tips

Reusable Cloth Nappies Tips

Tip
Reduce Plastic

Switching to reusable nappies might seem daunting and there is no doubt that when it comes to nappies disposable are the most convenient. When adjusting to life with a new small person taking on the routine of reusable nappies can be a long way down the priority list.

An estimated 3 billion disposable nappies are thrown away each year: the majority of these are made of plastic and will take up to 500 years to decompose in landfill.

There is a large range of cloth nappies available and there isn't a simple answer to which nappy brand might be best for you and your baby.

Do your research, talk to friends and remember that you don't have to switch to 100% cloth nappies to make a difference - it isn't all or nothing.

Cloth nappies are generally not 100% plastic-free as they will have a PUL (or similar) fabric layer to make them waterproof, however they significantly reduce plastic waste.

You can also get reusable swim nappies which are easy to use, even if you don’t use cloth nappies the rest of the time.
