"After discovering that almost everything involved in washing up included some sort of plastic (even the innocuous sponge!), I've been on the hunt for plastic-free alternatives. This washing up sponge is made from Loofah plant grown in Egypt."
Made from sustainable Loofah plant with cotton string loop for hanging
Suitable for the washing machine. I wash mine with the towels, other cleaning clothes and reusable wet wipes. You could also put it on the top shelf of the dishwasher.
Soft enough for non-stick pans
Can also be used for cleaning, not just washing up, or even as a body sponge instead of a plastic body puff!
Suitable for Vegans
The pad is quite large which can make it trickier for smaller hands or for cleaning more delicate items like glassware. You could consider making two smaller pads out of one to make it easier to use.
It can be difficult to remove all the food debris from the pad. I once made the mistake of cleaning the extractor fan with one of these and the greasy dust was very difficult to remove, even after a cycle in the washing machine.
