Packaging: Paperboard box with paper liner

End of Life: Product: biodegradable / Packaging: recyclable

"I love these! (Although it did take a while for my hair to adjust to these cubes when switching from a bottled shampoo). None of the residue that other plastic-free shampoos have left me with and lovely and soft without the need for a conditioner. Normally, one cube is enough for even long thick hair. Just take one cube at a time into the shower with you, crush between your palms and add a little water at a time until you have a foaming paste. Then wash hair as normal. Lovely."

Advantages...

  • 100% plastic-free
  • Free from palm oil
  • Great for travelling - just take a few of the cubes with you, and they can easily go in hand luggage
  • Suitable for Vegans

Disadvantages...

  • Don't keep the box in the shower - just take in 1 or 2 cubes as needed so they don't all get wet

Costs...

£8.50 for a box of 27 cubes. Use 1 cube per wash - 31.5p per wash.

To make these more affordable:

  • If you have shorter or finer hair you may find you could use just half a cube per wash
  • You may no longer need to use a separate conditioner
  • I’ve also found my hair doesn’t get greasy as quickly so can now go for longer between washes

Where to Buy...

The range includes products for different hair types, one specifically for men and a combined shampoo and body wash cube. They also make a plastic-free conditioner.

Available direct from Beauty Kubes, and a range of stockists including from online retailers Acala and Plastic Freedom.

Tips...

  • For storage in the bathroom I've found a jam jar is best to ensure the unused cubes don't get wet
